Building a terminal right next to our major businesses just makes sense - it provides easy access to get people and goods where they need to go. Why wouldn't you put a train station closer to the shops, restaurants, and offices around the Central Business District?
Building such a big transit hub in the West End will destroy 41 city blocks, 900 homes and Lincoln Park. If my home is torn down, where will I move? If Lincoln Park goes away, where will my kids play?
The West End has cheap land, good railroad access and room to expand. And it would bring jobs to that part of town. It's the perfect place to build the new terminal.
